Cordelia is not a kid movie!!!

Adam and I just got home from Cabo and decided to have a fun night out. We took Arden to see Cordelia because her favorite show right now is The Nightmare before Christmas. The last half hour was so scary she kept crying about buttons being sewed on her eyes. We should have left, but we kept thinking it was over, so our good parenting card might be revoked. So avoid this show with children, but Adam and I really like it.

Since our last post we have been to Disneyland twice and had all kinds of fun, but I have not followed through on my blog. But I promise to do better. Here are some pictures to catch up the last few months.

Bruce is Married!!!

We flew to Seattle for Bruce's wedding and had a great time!! The wedding was beautiful and Arden is all about getting married now. Although she is under the impression that she is going to marry Bruce or her Daddy. I have informed her, that even in Utah, that would be disturbing.

Posts have been sporadic, but it has been a crazy month!!! Arden celebrated her 3rd bday and with a compilation of holidays July has been a blur. Not to mention we found out my dad has plasma cancer and I have spent days at the hospital trying to wrap my mind around it all.

However, we loved July and we are looking forward to August!!!!

Tri Guy!!!

Adam finished his ironman triathlon in 13 hours and 50 minutes. It was a 2 mile, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run. We are very excited to have him back to a normal lifestyle that does not included intense training.

We spent two weeks in Mexico thanks to the Hatches and loved every second of it. In fact, we are trying to figure out a way to relocate!!!! Arden loved the beaches, but was not quite as excited about the 20 hour car ride. However, the trip is totally worth it.

Sorry for the delayed posts, but things have been really crazy the last month!!!! We just returned from Marco Island, FL and I forgot the camera, so we have nothing to show for it, but tans. We had a great time and Arden spent the week working her grandma over, so we all won.

My birthday was May 2nd and we have determined that Arden gets our birthdays as well as her own. We sang her happy birthday and she blew out the candles a billion times. She has finally figured out birthdays and she takes great pleasure in the whole birthday concept. Adam and I took the afternoon off to see Ironman and we loved it!!!

She was wearing this t-shirt that we purchased in the bahamas and she looked so funny. She made me take her over to Debbies house so that she could show her the mermaid tshirt.

There has not been much going on around here, but Arden loves to feed the ducks at Sugarhouse Park. She loved it and I loved the picture.

Easter was a lot of fun, but after 5 easter hunts it was getting a little old. Arden loved coloring easter eggs and eating candy. The weather was a little cold and so most of the time she was crying on the sidelines much to her parents chagrin. Like any good parent, we forced her to hunt for eggs in tears so that we could get pictures. Hopefully in years to come we will forget the tantrums and think she was really that happy to be at any easter party. By then her emotional scars will be forgotten so she loves easter weekend. Anyhow, enjoy the pictures of a fun weekend!!!!

Phoenix Zoo!!!!

We went to Phoenix for Bethany's wedding and it was beautiful!! Nikki and Lexi came from CA and Johnny flew in from MI. We had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the warm park weather.

We went to the Phoenix zoo to keep the kids entertained and it worked. Arden was loving all the animals, but poor EZ vomited within the first 5 minutes. Rather than going home like responsible adults, we had a zoo employee spray off the stroller and bought a tshirt at the gift shop and partied on!!!!

We had an awesome time in the Bahamas!!! This was the waterslide that was unbelievable, however we loved the lazy river. However after the long plane ride, we are going to keep running to Mexico!!

We had a great party on Valentines Day with the cousins who are not in school. Arden loved it, so I am thinking that next year I might actually organize a party. This year people just showed up. Plus - - winter improved drastically, because we are leaving for Bahamas in two days!!!!

I was looking through our New Years photos and I found this one of Arden nursing a 2 liter of Dr. Pepper. I did not take this photo and I am not sure how she ended up with a huge soda, but it showcases that as long as she does not call any attention to herself, she can get away with a lot!!!!

Snow Days!!!

The snow is really dumping in Utah!!! Our presidents day consisted of 3 hours of shoveling and Arden crying because her hands were cold. She could not play in it because the snow was up to her shoulders. There is suppose to be more snow this weekend, which means I might be headed to Phoenix in the next week to escape the cold.

Christmas Adventures

This is the first year that Arden is figuring out Christmas and so the holidays are a lot more fun than I had imagined. We went to see the lights at Temple Square and Arden passed out before it started. After much abuse, she regained consciousness and loved the lights. It was really cold!!!!

The Browns had their family Xmas party tonight and 10 of my 11 siblings were there. It was so much fun and Santa brought presents for the kids. I really love Christmas time and I can hardly wait for one more day until we open presents.

The holidays only last another week, so I am going to hibernate starting January 1st to avoid anymore cold weather.

Let the blogging begin!!!!

I have become a blog stalker, which means I spend hours searching blogs for long lost family and friends.

For this reason, I wanted to share our family updates to make sure we keep in touch with friends who live far away.

These pictures were taken about a year apart and it makes me realize that Arden is growing fast!!

We have learned that parenting is a crash course and you pretty much learn as you go. For those who do not live nearby and do not witness the chaos in our house, our parenting successes are as follows:

talking ALL THE TIME (even answering the phone and talking to strangers inaudibly)
a vast knowledge of all the Disney princesses and songs for each princess
climbing in the car seat and buckling herself because sometimes her mom forgets
putting on her rain boots with every outfit because mom does not have to help
taking a small TV to restaurants so her parent can eat in peace. (yes I count this as a success)
Extensive knowledge of Santa Claus, reindeer and basic Christmas songs

Our parenting failures are:

the demands she puts on adults (conversations are not allowed in her presence unless discussing Mickey Mouse, Monsters or princesses)
potty training so far has not struck her fancy ( much to my chagrin)
Nursery is the top of my list on why Misha should not attend church any longer. I just cannot believe we pay 10% for this abuse!!
Barfing in Kindermusik class and as I slither out of class really embarrassed!!
Unless McDonalds chicken nuggets and candy has become part of the food pyramid, I am in trouble here as well.
Sharing is not a term that even exists in her world.
Absolutely no idea on the true meaning of Christmas (working on it).

Our New Years Resolutions include many positive ideas on how to redeem our parenting next year. However, on a serious note, she is the best thing that has happened to her parents and we embrace all of the happiness she provides us!!!!
